New Delhi: The Government on Wednesday announced an annual card established £3 000, effective from August 15, offers commuters from paying frequent stained fees for tolls on national highways.
The new passage that will be valid year from the date of activation or 200 trips-karsa comes first-it is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps and supplies to facilitate trouble-free, faster and smoother travel experiences for millions, Minister of Road Transport and Nitin Motorway.
“In a transformation step towards trouble -free road travel, we introduce an annual Fastag -based card at the F3 000 price, effective from August 15, 2025… The annual card will allow smooth and cost -effective travel through national highways across the country.

There will soon be a reserved link to activate and restore in Rajmarg Yatra as well as on the official Nhai and Morth website, ”said Gadkari.
In February, Mind reported on the plan of annual discounted tolls for private vehicles on national motorways.
Travelers will also receive a discount on tolls on certain national highways.
“This policy deals with long -term concerns about toll reptiles located in the range of 60 km and simplifies toll payments through a single available transaction. By reducing waiting time, stating overload and minimizing disputes in tolls, the aim of the annual passage is to provide faster and smoother travel experience for millions of private vehicles.
This step is followed by growing fears of high toll fees on Indian highways. Several new sections have a number of tolls that make traveling very expensive for cars and commercial vehicles.
It is estimated that toll fees for a one-way journey at 1,386 km of the Delhi-Mumbai motorway, which is still under construction, could move between £1,000 and £3,000 depending on the type of vehicle.

Pipeline is determined on the basis of the distance and structure of the road. For example, it is higher on routes with multiple railway overpasses. Toll fees increased by more than 3% in FY25, and according to the ICRA report, it is expected to increase by 3.5 to 4.2% in FY2026.
The annual card was designed to not affect the revenues of the operating motorway sections. This means that the government would be covered by any loss in the planned income from highway sections.
Toll Pass could significantly reduce travel costs for frequent commuting and increase the ease of movement. Several states, including Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, have already tried monthly tolls that have shown their feasibility.
The loss of discounting income is expected to be limited because private vehicles contribute only about 26% of the annual toll collection, while 74% of commercial vehicles.
Collection of users’ fees or toll collection on Plazas on national highways stood £55 882.12 crore in FY24. That was a jump over £48 032.40 crore collected in FY23 and £33 928.66 crore in FY22.
In FY25, the Ministry of Road Transport and Motorway focuses on the collection of tolls £70 000 crore. In October 2024 there were a total of 1,015 user fees on the national motorways. The ICRA report in FY2026 is likely to increase 3-5% of traffic growth probably by 7-9% in FY2026.

The Ministry also implements a toll collection system based on a global navigation satellite system without a barrier on certain sections of national highways as an added device together with Fastag.
The GNSS toll -based toll system would be relieved of the plague needs of these highways, facilitating the smooth movement of vehicles, and allowing the distance -based tolls, so users only apply to the sections they have traveled.
