“I think there was no one in the world to reject his potential, and said he (Rahul) was not talented,” Shastri said. “What was angry with people did not provide such talent. And in this series you see the best of Rahul.”

Shastri pointed out that small adjustments in Rahul’s attitude on his front legs unlocked more consistency and technical security. “What I see is a slight modification he has done with his front leg, in his attitude and in defense,” he explained. “It just opened a little, which allows his bat to pass cleanly. Even if he hits him towards the middle goal, it’s a full face of the blade.”Improvements helped Rahul avoid past pitfalls-in particular the fall and trapped leg or bowled. “He doesn’t need to close the face of the blade and fall and get into trouble as he used to be in the past,” Shastri added.
