IND vs WI: Kuldeep Yadav returns to T20I side, Nitish Kumar Reddy to miss Asian Games
Kuldeep Yadav returned to India’s T20I side when the squad for the five-match series against West Indies was announced on Wednesday, September 16. During the squad announcement conducted by the BCCI, it was also revealed that Nitish Kumar Reddy was dropped from the Asian Games squad.
Kuldeep last played a T20I for India during the T20 World Cup 2026 match against Pakistan in Colombo and was subsequently left out of the last four assignments. The left-arm button was part of the Test series in Sri Lanka and did not have the best of results, which led to him being dropped in the second Test and Saransh Jain getting a chance.
After missing out on the Afghanistan series and the Asian Games, Kuldeep decided to head for the County Championship where he impressed everyone with a timely 10-wicket haul for Yorkshire against Essex.
Kuldeep’s return could be due to India being without Varun Chakravarthy indefinitely after he suffered a side strain during the ongoing T20I in Afghanistan. Kuldeep played 54 matches and took 95 wickets for India in the format.
