India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has been declared fully fit and available for selection in all formats after successfully completing his rehabilitation program at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE).
According to medical officials, Gill has not only completed his rehabilitation but also met all the necessary fitness and performance criteria required for his return to competitive cricket. His recovery process was closely monitored and the results were described as “successful and satisfactory”.
Gill will be formally released from the CoE with a detailed clinical handover provided to the relevant Sports Science & Medicine (SSM) team who will oversee his reintegration into training and match preparation.
IND vs SA 3rd ODI Update
Gill has been selected to play in the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa starting on December 9. However, his participation was subject to confirmation of eligibility from the CoE, which he has now received.
Gill was injured after injuring his neck while he played a sweeping stroke during India’s first innings in the opening Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens and was briefly hospitalized in Kolkata. Although he was released the next day, he continued to feel discomfort, which ruled him out of the remaining Test and ODI series.
