He said his own approach in such conditions is to bowl as much as possible on the stumps, even if it means giving up runs. Bowling straight, he explained, creates chances to bowl and leg before dismissal and gives the bowler a chance even on a good pitch.
“If the batter misses, there is always a chance to score,” Siraj said, adding that clarity of thought is key in such a situation.

Management must consider the current form, discipline and tactical value of the left-handed option on a batting surface.
