Incumbent Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez has made a five-day trip to India

Delcy Rodriguez, Acting President of Venezuela, will embark on a five-day visit to India from Wednesday to strengthen bilateral ties in the fields of energy, trade and technology.

Ms. Rodriguez is scheduled for extensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, announcing her June 3-7 trip.

Ms Rodriguez took over as Venezuela’s acting president following the arrest of then-President Nicolas Maduro by US forces in January.

She will be accompanied by several ministers, including ministers of external affairs, economy and finance, science and technology, communication and information and transport, Mr. Jaiswal said.
