Malesh Tenginakai, Hubballi-Dharwad Mla, said that with regard to the interests of merchants and commercial facilities, the height of the raised road in the Chennamma Circle Kittur was increased by a meter and work was done accordingly.
He talked to Prespersons after reviewing the progress of construction work on an elevated circular road in Kittur Chennamma Circle and led discussions with the National Motorway Office, the Department of Public Works, the Northwest Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.
Mr. Tenginakai said that work on the elevated road from Hosur Circle to Kittur Chennamma Circle and 650 m raised road from Vijayapura Road to KC Circle took place at a brisk pace.
“The circular section of the Vijayapura Road-KC has more commercial buildings and if the work was done according to earlier design, they would disappear in an increased way. So the design was changed to increase the height by a meter and therefore work,” he said.
To ask Mr. Tenginakai that after the movement of the vehicle was diverted through alternative routes from April 20, the work rose and 17 beams were installed. Work on the supply line of drinking water and underground drainage system has already been completed and 63 beams work was started, he said, adding that heavy machines and vehicles were deployed to speed up the work.
He also stated that the authorities promised to complete the work before 19 August.
The MLA said the new BRTS bus station was built in front of the renovated old KC Circle bus station. After completing the first phase of work, work on Gadag Road would start.
Meanwhile, the land acquisition process was completed and the plan was to complete the overall project by the end of December, he said.
The representative of the police commissioner (crime and operation) Raveesh CR pointed out that public buses were stopped without distinction to allow passengers to board, causing traffic congestion on alternative routes. A joint police and NWKrtc team would be created to solve the problem, he said. During the inspection, many officials were accompanied by a number of officials.
