Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has seen fewer birds incidents over the last five years compared to other main airports in India, revealed the data of Rajya Sabha.
On Monday, Foreign Minister for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said that Hyderabad announced a total of 207 birds’ strikes between 2020 and June 2025. The annual data was 33 in 2020, 29 in 2021, 38 in 2022, 48 in 2023, 43 in 2024 and 16 in the first half of 2025.
On the other hand, the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi showed the highest number, and in the same period in the first half of 2025 in the first half of 2025 in 2020 in 2022 in 2025 increased a total of 695.

The Ministry, which is concerned about the safety of aviation, said that all airports were entrusted to the introduction of the plan of management of the dangers of wildlife. This includes measures such as habitat modification, rodent and insect control and use of bird detection and dispersion systems using biological and chemical methods.
