
During the 2026 Rabi season, more than 6.76 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is expected in Kakinada district. Nearly six lakh metric tonnes of paddy is likely to be procured by the Civil Supplies Department, while the remaining quantity will be retained by farmers for their own consumption.
In a preparatory meeting on the purchase of paddy, Joint Collector Apoorva Bharat said that ₹2,389 per quintal will be offered as the minimum support price for quality paddy and ₹2,369 per quintal for Grade A quality. All stakeholders have been asked to prepare for the purchase of paddy and prepare gun bags.
