This year’s Miss Universe ceremony was held in Thailand, and Puerto Rico has been revealed as next year’s host.
When Fatima Bosch left the competition
The event ran into several major problems from the start. First, there were claims that one contestant was not treated fairly and her intelligence was questioned. This upset many attendees and led to some of them walking out in protest.
The tension built until the end when the host broke down and burst into tears, putting the difficult and dramatic situation on full display.
Bosch’s winning night came after weeks of headline controversy. In early November, she withdrew from the official competition after being publicly reprimanded by a Thai official in front of dozens of other contestants.
The official also reportedly warned that contestants who support Bosch could face disqualification, a moment that quickly spread across the internet and divided pageant fans.
