The Russian drone attack killed the family of the local fire boss in the northern city of Pryluky, Ukraine in the ChernihIV region, said the Minister of the Interior of Ukraine on Thursday.
Minister Ihor Krymenko said he killed his wife, daughter and an annual grandson.
“In this terrible night, the rescuer was on the spot with the fire and rescue team to deal with the consequences of enemy strokes,” he wrote on the telegram and expressed his condolences.
The family was killed among five people when Russia released six drones to attack the city overnight, said regional governor of Viacheslav Chaus. He added that six other people were hospitalized.
Ukrainian northern and eastern regions were a frequent destination of Russian drones and missiles in a more than three -year war.
Another Russian drone attack on the northeastern city of Kharkiv in Ukraine injured 18 people, including four children, Klymenko said.
Mayor Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov said that the strikes had damaged seven apartment buildings overnight with direct interventions for two.
“It flew to the side door to our neighbors and my child, and I managed to escape into the hallway,” said resident Anastasiia Mealshchenko on the scene, adding that the ceiling began to crumble after the explosion.
“Yesterday, workers have just completed the repair work in my apartment after a previous attack,” she said.
