The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) issued a severe heat wave alert for 51 mandals and a heat wave alert for 49 mandals in the state on Monday.
Heatwave conditions were witnessed in 10 mandals of Parvathipuram-Manyam, Tirupati, Vizianagaram and West Godavari districts on Sunday. The day was not as hot as the previous day when the temperature crossed 41 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state. Pottipadu of Kondapuram mandal in YSR Kadapa district recorded 43.8°C, the highest temperature of the day.
