
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert of heavy rainfall over the parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for today, September 17, 2025. Consulting comes in the middle of expectations of large showers and potential floods across several regions in the country.

IMD indicated a low to medium risk of lightning floods in selected basins and surrounding neighborhoods in the next 24 hours.

Risk districts include Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Pitchhoragarh, Rudrappayag, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi.
The separation warned that surface runoff and inundation could occur in fully saturated soils and low -lying areas due to expected severe collisions in these districts.
