The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) PALAKKAD’S Technology IHub Foundation (IPTIF) joined with the BUIMERC India Foundation to present a program of support for social innovations. The aim of this initiative is to promote social entrepreneurship in Kerala with plans to expand its reach to the nationwide level.
IIT Palakkad A. Ushadri Sekhar and chairman of the Buimerc India R. Balachandran Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MO) on Wednesday.

Officials Iit Palakkad welcomed cooperation as a milestone in strengthening the ecosystem of the technological innovation of the state focused on social impact.
The DISHA program will support start -ups and innovators that develop socially incident technological solutions in key areas such as health care, rural development, sustainability and digital integration.
It will help entrepreneurs through professional management, initial financing and access to top facilities. Ten scholarships of entrepreneurs in residence (EIR) receive support and prototyping.
It will also offer the BUIMERC NAVA DISHA price three manufacturers of social changes from Kerala.
Sechar noted that the partnership has shown the focus of Iit Palakkado on socially incident innovations, allowing entrepreneurs to create a lasting impact with the support of the Buimerc India foundation.
IPTIF is a section-8, a non-profit company IIT Palakkad supported by the Central Ministry of Science and Technology within the National Mission for the Interdisciplinary Program of Cybernetic Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).
IPTIF promotes deep technological innovations, business and translation research focusing on the acceleration of hardware and its application for social benefit.
The Buimerc India based in Kochi is a philanthropic initiative of the Buimerc group. It supports programs in children’s care, health care, geriatric care, strengthening the position of various environmental protection, animal care and education.
