The two -day international conference on tribal resistance, resistance and 150 years of Birsy Munda, organized by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Iit Madras, dealt with the topics of tribal history, resistance movement and future possibilities.
The conference called “Tribal Resistance, Resistance and Reimagination of the Future: The 150 -year celebration Bhagwan Birsa Munda was 80 scientists and community leaders from around the world.
Indrasena Reddy Nalla, Governor of Tripura, said the indigenous knowledge of Indian tribes must be integrated with modern science and technology. Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Head of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras and prof. Sathanarayan N. Gummadi, Dean (students) Iit Madras, spoke.
