
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras launched a 23 -day road safety campaign to improve awareness among drivers in Odisha.
The RBG Labs Group (RBG Labs) at the Ministry of Design of Engineering at the Institute has launched a campaign led by a female “zero accident” to bring a change in behavior to reduce traffic accidents and support responsible proceedings.
Since men represent more than 80% of road deaths in the country, the project assumed that women were leading a campaign and ensure that men return home safe.
The project started on Tuesday by the main Minister Mohan Charan Matern in Bhubaneshwar. Mr. Majhi praised this initiative: “This will leave the permanent impact on the inhabitants of Odisha, supports individual and collective responsibility for road safety,” he said.
There will be literary and social activities such as competition of winners, writing essays, photography, creating short films and cultural activities.
RBG Labs Head of Venkates Balasubraramanian said the campaign is a unique convergence of engineering knowledge, behavioral engineering and community participation.
