Iit Madras Incuboted Smart EV Charger Company Plugzmart has developed an indigenous EV charging platform that is designed to connect chargers with charging networks (CMS).
According to the startup, “Relay” is the first platform, which allows at the same time to connect a single EV charger to more CMS. This means that the charger is no longer limited to one application or network, which gives it freedom to get more platforms, all in real time.

The “relay” allows higher use of charging for fleet operations by connecting with multiple CMS platforms, including those that are specially created for fleet management. “If one network is experiencing downtime, the other continues to work and ensure continuous availability of charging and smoother fleet operations,” he said.
Currently, most EV chargers are locked per CMS, which means that customers of only one EV brand could use the charger. The Plugzmart solution violates this limitation by introducing an intelligent middleware that allows more CMS connection for one charger.
Raghanendar TS, director of software business unit, plugzmart, said: “One of the largest roadblocks for accepting EV is the limited availability of chargers visible on public platforms. Our solution maximizes the visibility of each installed charger
Plugzmart is the manufacturer of original equipment (OEM) chargers of electric vehicles and provider of electric charging infrastructure SAAS. Plugzmart, incubated on IIT Madras in 2019, created its own EV -intelligent management system with IoT support to integrate and effectively communicate with chargers. Their portfolio of 18 products includes chargers for two, three and four wheels.
