
The third year of the BTTE student Iit KharaGpur, identified as Mohammad Asif Qamar, was reportedly found in his hostel room on Sunday.
The official told the press agency PTI that Qamar’s body was found in his hostel room in Madanmhan Malviya Hall in the IIT KharaGpur campus.
Qamar was from the district of Seohar in Bihar and is expected to visit his home on Sunday.
Iit Kharagpur issued a statement and expressed sadness over Qamar’s demise. “It is with deep sadness that Iit KharaGpur is condoln by the early extinction of MD Asif Qamar for the third year under a postgraduate student at the Ministry of Construction at 2:53 in the morning,” the statement read according to PTI.
He stated that the security number was received from a “external source that MD Asif Qamar committed self -harm”.
“The safety reaction team immediately plunged into PT mmm Hall of Residence (Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hall), where the student was found dead in his room,” the institute said.
“A team of doctors, administration and police also achieved space. The Qamar family was also contacted for the incident,” he said.
Probe
The police are currently under investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
“The Institute is fully cooperating with the authorities,” he added.
Police from the base on academic ground was informed and opened the door to find out that it was hanging, the official of the Institute said earlier.
Death was confirmed by the leading police officer. He said the police had some management and the investigation continued.
He said Prima Facie was the case of suicide, but the investigation was a continuation.
‘Video call with a friend’
According to Times of India, Mohammad Asif Qamar was on a video call with his friend in Delhi before his death.
However, the police did not work if there was some telephone call from the external warning of the Qamar status.
The Institute said, “Iit KharaGpur is the sadness of the tragic loss of our student Qamar. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
“We are determined to provide them with unwavering support and assistance during this demanding time. We strongly encourage all students to take advantage of the advantages of” supportive services for health “available in the institute,” the spokesman of the Institute added.

“The committee is formed to explore the circumstances and the reason for such tragedies and the committee will issue its recommendations in three days,” said the reigning director AMIT PATRA previously PTI.
