Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU), Mulugu, has strengthened its academic offerings by launching collaborative programs with Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad, for the academic year 2026-27.

More than 105 students from nine states participated in the new programs this year. They were formally welcomed at an induction program held at the university’s transit campus in Jakkaram.

Addressing the students online, IIT-H Director BS Murty said the institute would extend full support to SSCTU in strengthening teaching and learning as well as expanding its academic and infrastructural capabilities. He described the arrangement as a distinctive initiative as IIT-H faculty would directly take responsibility for teaching students of another central university.

SSCTU Vice Chancellor YL Srinivas said the collaboration with IIT-H and TISS-Hyderabad marked important milestones in the development of the new Central University. He said the partnership will provide students exposure to leading institutions, contemporary knowledge and industry-oriented learning, besides enhancing their employability and preparing them for changing professional requirements.

Mr. Srinivas also announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone for the university’s permanent campus in October. TISS Hyderabad Principal Aseem Prakash urged the students to approach their academic journey with discipline, determination and continuous learning.
