Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will organize an Open Day event on March 7 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to showcase its activities to the student community and general public.
According to IISc, on this day, students, science and technology enthusiasts and the public will have an opportunity to visit the institute and tour the campus to explore the exciting science and technology initiatives and activities of IISc.
The Open Day will include popular lectures, experimental demos, poster presentations, quiz competitions, science competitions and exhibitions.
The children’s zone will offer a special attraction for all younger ages. Entry to the event is free.
“The open day is for IISc departments to showcase their research activities. We are unable to accommodate requests from those outside IISc to showcase their activities,” it said.
It further added that the institute has received an overwhelming response from both institutions and individuals to visit the IISc campus on the Open Day.
It states that in order to minimize inconvenience to visitors and streamline logistics, visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transport as much as possible.
Inside the IISc campus, visitors can use e-rickshaws to commute from one end to the other. Fifteen e-rickshaws (Trans-Vahan) have been commissioned which will be free of charge.
“Due to construction work going on at several locations inside the campus, visitors are requested to tread carefully. Parents and guardians are requested to supervise their younger children at all times,” it said.
Help desks are available at all convenient locations where you can ask for any assistance. “Please bring your own water bottles. There will be enough water available to refill your water bottles. Please help us keep the IISc campus clean and green during your stay,” IISc said.
