IIMB alumni community collects ₹ 20.11 lakh for injured student

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Alumni Association (IIMBAA) community came together and raised ₹20.11 lakh in support of an IIM Bangalore student who was seriously injured in a road accident.

An appeal for financial assistance was shared with the alumni community on the morning of 25 September 2026 with an initial fundraising target of ₹18,000. Exceeding the target, 267 graduates contributed a total of ₹ 20.11 lakh.

The overwhelming response united alumni across generations and showed the strength of the IIMB community at a time when one of its members needed help, IIMBAA said in a statement.

“I’m proud to see IIMBAA become a true community, a community where people come together to help each other when it matters. Because ultimately, that’s what a caring community does,” said Harish Mittal, IIMBAA President.

The IIMB student, who met with a road accident, remains in a serious condition and is admitted to Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road, a statement said.
