
The Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM-V) hosted a special convening for graduation for the first batch of its executive MBA (EMBA) and postgraduate program in management for centrally funded technical institutions and institutions of national significance).
The EMBA program program was completed by a total of 124 students, which represents a diverse cohort from 17 Indian countries and 4 foreign countries, including 24 women.
The graduation class was 33 years of age and almost nine years of professional experience, which underlines the focus of the program development for work professionals.
In the PGPMCI program, 72 students completed their first year and received diplomas in business management.
The ceremony was opened by Janat Shah, a member of the Governor Council, Iim-V, who spoke of the rapid growth of the Indian ecosystem and emphasized the importance of creating a positive social impact through business.
M. Chandrasekhar, Director of Iim-Visakhapatnam, introduced the director’s report and noted that approximately 70% of EMBA students reported improved strategic thinking, wider business view and increased trust and credibility. Approximately 60% recorded the growth of their leadership abilities, while 50% said they had improved interpersonal skills and expanded their professional networks. In addition, 27% of graduates experienced career progress through promotional events or new opportunities.
He said the PGPMCi is a pioneering program in accordance with the national educational policy (NEP) 2020 and offers students from centrally funded institutions a unique and multi -institutional learning experience.
The main guest of D. Shivakumar, the Advent International Operational Partner, who delivered the main speech, urged students to independently define their own value and resist comparative pressures.
