The eighth Inter-IIIT Sports Meet 2026 (Indoor Sports) organized by the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kurnool concluded on Saturday. 357 athletes from 15 IIITs across India participated in the sports meet which started on April 2.
Institutes like IIIT Sri City, IIITM Gwalior, IIITDM Kanchipuram, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Allahabad, IIITDM Kurnool, IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Ranchi, IIIT Jabalpur, IIIT Pune, IIIT Tiruchirappalli, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Surat, IIIT Bhodara and IIIT participated in meet V. The participants showed discipline, teamwork and competitive spirit which made the tournament very engaging and successful.
IIITM Gwalior emerged first in the overall institute ranking followed by IIIT Dharwad, IIITDM Kancheepuram and IIITDM Kurnool at the fourth position.
Director IIITDM Kurnool BS Murty along with Director IIIT Gwalior SN Singh, Director IIIT Allahabad Mukul Sutaone, Registrar IIIT Allahabad Mandar Subhash and Registrar-in-charge IIITDM Kurnool J. Krishnaiah were present at the convocation held on Saturday. Together they presented medals and cups to the winners and runners-up.
They also appreciated the efforts of the organizing team, faculty and volunteers of IIITDM Kurnool for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the sports meet.
