Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool (IIITDM-Kurnool) celebrated its Foundation Day. The celebration featured a number of academic and technical events.
As part of the celebrations, a poster presentation competition took place, in which 39 students took part. The event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase innovative ideas, research findings and creative solutions in various fields. An AI quiz competition was also prepared for the students.
Addressing the gathering of students and faculty, BHVS Narayana Murthy, Vice-Chancellor, Defense Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune and former Director General (Missile and Strategic Systems), Defense Research and Development Organization, congratulated IIITDM-Kurnool for creating a well-equipped laboratory infrastructure in a short span of time and expressed confidence that the institute would soon emerge as one of the premier institutions in the country.
Highlighting the rapid progress in India’s defense sector, Mr. Narayana Murthy said the increased defense budget is paving the way for India to become a global leader in defense equipment manufacturing, thereby reducing dependence on imports. He emphasized that India is steadily moving towards becoming a technologically advanced product-producing country rather than a primarily service-oriented economy.
IIITDM Director BS Murthy encouraged students and staff to integrate artificial intelligence in various fields to support the nation in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.
