Inspector General of Police (IGP), Eluru Range, GVG Ashok Kumar has asked the police personnel to provide better services to the public using latest technology.
Mr. Ashok Kumar attended the Annual Crime Review and Coordination Meeting on Friday along with Collector K. Vetri Selvi, Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore, Additional SP Susmitha R., IPS Trainee Jaya Sharma and other officers.
The IGP said the police should maintain law and order, acquire knowledge of investigative methods and projects, latest technology, equipment and surveillance system.
The Collector lauded the police for conducting ‘jatars’, VIP tours and other events without incident in recent months and stressed the need for coordination among various departments to control crime.
Mr. Pratap Shiva Kishore said that with the cooperation of the Collector and officers of various departments, the Eluru area has been brought under 100% CCTV surveillance and the bereaved family members of the police personnel have been given compassionate jobs.
The SP lauded the fingerprinting unit of Inspector Srinivas Rao, which helped crack many cases, especially property crimes.
Mr. Srinivas Rao helped the police in cracking 45 cases in 2024 and 75 cases in 2025, the SP said.
Earlier, the IGP and SP investigated crimes in Eluru, Jangareddygudem, Nuzvid and Polavaram police divisions.
