TTV Dhinakaran Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary on Sunday (May 17, 2026) said it will demand a CBI probe if legislators belonging to AIADMK or AMMK get ministerial berths in the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government.

Speaking to reporters in Tiruchi, he alleged that TVK was “poaching” the legislator and accused the party of engaging in “horse-trading”.

Government stability

He alleged that some parties extended support to TVK, founded by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, for political reasons despite ideological differences and claimed that the stability of the government was uncertain.

Referring to AIADMK legislators extending support to TVK, he said such decisions would weaken the AIADMK itself.

Asserting that the AIADMK cannot be destroyed, Mr. Dhinakaran said internal differences within the party were nothing new.

He expressed confidence that the party would be stronger in the upcoming elections. Criticizing Mr. Vijay, he said the former had earlier targeted the AIADMK by calling it a corrupt party and questioned the reason why AIADMK legislators were now supporting him.

He also alleged that Finance Minister KA Sengottaiyan was acting as an “agent” of the TVK to weaken the AIADMK.

Mr. Dhinakaran said that the AMMK would continue as a member of the National Democratic Alliance, adding that several BJP leaders were concerned about the ongoing problems within the AIADMK.
