The international career of Shikhar Dhawan suddenly ended. Once the vital part of the Indian setting was a limited setting, the charming left -hander did not receive the appropriate farewell that his contributions probably deserved.
Dhawan played an important role in success in a white ball, especially during ICC Champions Trophy in 2013Where he ended up as a top running shooter with 363 runs in five matches on average 90.75. He also maintained a strong record in ICC tournaments, on average 53.70 in the ODI World Cups. His consistent performance was essential for maintaining India among the candidates for the title in global events after their World Cup triumph in 2011, although they could not add another trophy to the cabinet.
But time eventually caught up with him, as with all athletes. The Indian team began to move its focus on the future and gave opportunities to younger players who brought standout performances in the Premier League Indian.
The game itself also evolved, with a greater emphasis on interference and slightly cleaning the ropes. Dhawan, known more for its timing and fluency, was not quite suitable for the new approach. Inshan Kishan, a fearless young dough from Jharkhand, entered the frame and made subtitles with his record double century against Bangladesh and became the youngest to achieve performance in ODI. This record was later broken by SHUBMAN GILL, who scored in 2023 against New Zealand.
At that moment, Dhawan realized that his time in the Indian jersey probably ended.
“I scored a lot of 50 years, I didn’t hit 100, but I scored a lot of 70. Ishan Kishan scored 200My instinct told me: Okay, boy, it can be the end of your career. The inner voice came to me. And that happened. Then I remember my friends came, you know, give me the emotional support. They thought I’d be very down. But I chilled, I enjoyed, ”Dhawan said in an interview with Hindustan Times.
What was even harder was that, besides head coach Rahul David, none of the team reached him. Dhawan, however, said he did not take it personally and that such things were normal in professional sport.
“No, it won’t,” he said.
“Maybe I talked to Rahul (David) Bhai.
Despite the silent departure, Dhawan continues to remember for his iconic performance. His energy, taste, and the ability to climb on this opportunity have been made by his favorite fans and a key figure in one of the most amazing tall units with the white ball that India created.
