
Former Sri Lankan domestic cricket Saliya Saman was issued a five -year ban from all forms of cricket after the anti -corruption Tribunal ICC found him guilty of violating the anti -corruption of Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
A 39 -year -old man was among eight individuals accused in September 2023 for offenses related to a cricket league in ABU Dhabi T10 Abu Dhabi. The Tribunal decided that Saman had tried to manipulate the tournament matches, but the timely ICC intervention and the designated anti -corruption clerk (DACO) prevented violations.
Saman’s suspension is rescued by September 13, 2023, which is the date when it was intermediately suspended, which means that the sanction has served for two years. Saman played a seasoned warrior, played 101 first -class and 77 presented matches during his home career.

He has been accused of Articles 2.1.1, 2.1.3 and 2.1.4 ECB code, which covers the adaptation of conformity, attempts to fix matches and request or get others to engage in corrupt behavior.
- Article 2.1.1: The Party of the attempt to correct, interpret or influence matches or aspects of matches in Abu Dhabi T10 2021.
- Article 2.1.3: Offering remuneration to another participant in exchange for involvement in corrupt behavior.
- Article 2.1.4: Request, invoking or encouragement of another participant to violate Article 2.1.
