
ICC logo (picture via ICC) The US, Nepal and Bhutan were among the eight countries awarded at the Awards ICC Development Awards 2024, announced during the annual meeting of the International Criket Council on Sunday. The US cricket received the ICC Associate Associate Men’s Team Permission of the Year for its strong performance, which included qualifications for the Super Eight Stages of the World Cup T20. The US, which hosted the western India tournament, defeated Canada and pulled out a stunning victory over Pakistan-team Babar Azama team from the competition and alerted great attention. Bhutan and Nepal also created a list of winners along with Indonesia, Namibia, Scotland, Tanzania and Vanuatu. A total of 15 associated Member States were included for prices.

ICC chairman Jay Shah said in the commentary on the award: “It is a pleasure to announce the global winner of the ICC Awards. It is a celebration of global uniqueness, all winners deserving of the awards they have received in their mission to play in reproducing countries,” as shown in PTI. Namibia was awarded the ICC Development Initiative of the Year Award for a mini-corner program Ashurton Kwata, a cricket project at a local level that became a key part of the country’s development strategy.

For the first time, the ICC female cricket initiative was shared by two organizations – Council of Crytian Council and Cricket Association Vanuatu. The Nepal Managing Authority, the cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), was acquired by ICC Digital Fan Engagement of the Year Award. Their expansion across digital platforms – including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and their new Facebook home sites – helped them to reach around 117 million people.
