
Team India has been awarded USD 2.63 million (Rs 24.28 crore) by the International Cricket Council for winning the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. India defeated the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to make history and successfully defend the title, becoming the first team to win the trophy on home soil.

The second, New Zealand, received US$1.42 million from the total prize pool of US$11.25 million allocated for the tournament. Meanwhile, the semi-finalists – South Africa National Cricket Team ($1.05 million) and England Cricket Team ($974 thousand) – also received their respective shares of prize money. The payouts follow a record increase in ICC remuneration announced in 2024 by the International Cricket Council.
Meantime, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday 10 Marchannounced a prize money of Rs 131 crore for the Suryakumar Yadav-led T20 World Cup-winning Indian team. The prize represents a significant jump from the Rs 125 crore prize announced after India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, making it Rs 6 crore higher this time around.
