The Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) was excluded by the farmer Venugopal Badaravada based in Varanasi from the government body (GB) and the general body of the ICAR company.
Mr. Badaravada, a representative of farmers in both panels, has questioned the seeds edited by the genome developed ICAR recently and also claimed that ICAR meetings are not transparent. The farmer said he turned to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the decision to remove him from these bodies.
Member Secretary of ICAR GB Sanjay Garg stated in the order of exclusion that Mr. Badaravada sends various post offices that select “frivolous, unsubstantiated and materially unsupported accusations” against the various bodies of the Union Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Education. Mr. Garg added that Mr. Badaravada’s requirements were against established rules and procedures of ICAR and Center.
He argued that the farmers’ representative issued a press release to media houses for the purpose of an ICAR GB member, thus against the organization’s interest. “With this conduct, ICAR has grossly blown up and violated the main intention of being a member of the general body and the ICAR Society, and thus involved in an act that did not appear by a member of the general body and the ICARY society management body,” Garg said.
He Said Mr. Badaravada Made Unreasonable Financial and Logistical Demands in Exchange for HIS Cooperation in Investigation of His Own Allegations, Including A APPEARANCE Fees of More Than ₹ 2 Crore for Each Online Session and A minimum of ₹ 500 Crore Personal Insurance Cover for In-Person Appears, Establishment of a Fully Staffed High-Security Office in North Block, New Delhi, A Charter Flight, Premium Accommodation, Extensive Security Arrangments, and Logistical Support From ICAR.
“In addition, he said that the appearance of persons is traded. Such disproportionate requirements in the process of complaint investigations indicate that they were not honest when monitoring their complaints and such complaints were made without any foundation and supportive fact,” ICAR said.
In his letter Mr. Modi, Mr. Badaravada stated that he had submitted ICAR authorities since 2023, supported by detailed evidence. “However, no measures have been taken. As a result, I have submitted petitions to the Prime Minister, President Bharat and others. These petitions that emphasize serious issues concerning corruption, poor management and systemic failure in ICAR were handed over to the secretary, the gidel for farmers.
He claimed corruption in the appointment of research management positions in ICAR and stated that it was a larger fraud than I write. “Clarion Clarion Narendra Modi Ji-” on Khaung, Khane Doonga “-resonates with millions of honest citizens. But if it is not fast, this connection will continue to be ridiculed,” he said that CBI or common parliamentary committees for this matter.
