Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Visakhapatnam Research Center and Fisheries incubation center of ICAR-CIFT in collaboration with Zonal Technology Management – Agrobusiness Incubation, Visakham-ABI Friday) organized by Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Visakhapatnam Research Center and Fisheries incubation Center of the Fisheries Value Adding Sector (December 14, 2025).
The objective of the program was to sensitize stakeholders on technologies available for value addition to seafood, utilization of fish waste and seaweed products and business support activities. Nearly 100 people including fishermen, seafood processing units, entrepreneurs, start-ups, farmers, SHG members, NGOs, students, skill development centres, representatives of State Department of Fisheries, FSI, Central Institute of Fisheries Maritime and Engineering Training (CIFNET), National Institute of Fisheries Post-harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT) participated in the awareness programme.
G. Pawan Kumar, National President, Seafood Exporters Association of India, who inaugurated the awareness programme, spoke about the wide range of ready-to-eat (RTE) and ready-to-eat (RTC) products in the global market.
Dr. B Madhusudana Rao, Scientist-in-Charge, ICAR-CIFT, Visakhapatnam Research Center presided over the inaugural ceremony and emphasized the importance of value addition for better value realization of fish, both for domestic and export markets.
Earlier, Dr. Viji. P., a leading scientist welcomed the gathering and later Dr. Jesmi Debbarma proposed a vote of thanks.
