The Surya Kiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force staged a breathtaking air show over the historic Bidar Fort on Friday, attracting thousands of spectators who watched in awe as nine aircraft performed a series of precision maneuvers in the sky.
Team Surya Kiran, led by Group Captain Commanding Officer Ajay Dasarathi, performed a series of complex aerobatic formations, including vertical climbs and dives, head-on passes, barrel rolls and synchronized team manoeuvres. The aircraft also painted the sky with saffron, white and green smoke, creating vivid patterns in the colors of the national flag and leaving the audience spellbound.
The performance alternated between solo, pair and full team performances, with planes appearing from different directions and heights, keeping the crowd, especially school and college students, engaged throughout the show. The roar of jets and the sight of “metal birds” soaring over the fort created an atmosphere of excitement and celebration.
The event was attended by district officials and senior Air Force personnel, including Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Sharma, Zilla Panchayat CEO Girish Badole, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivanand B. Karale and Air Commodore Parag Lal, Air Commandant, Air Force Station Bidar, along with Vaishali Lal, President of the local Air Force Families Welfare Association.
