Congress leader Manish Tewari posted a cryptic message on social media on Thursday (July 2, 2026) after being left out of the party’s organizational reshuffle in Punjab, saying he wished to have an “antidote to the insecurity of individuals and institutions”.
Mr Tewari, MP from Chandigarh and a former Union minister, shared X The Hindu’s report on the Congress reshuffle in Punjab, saying he had been “left in the cold” as the party announced new incumbents and election panels ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
“Hai bada koi avgun usme jise koi hunar aave (loosely translated as ‘if a person is talented, society usually finds fault with him),” Mr Tewari wrote on X. “I wish I had an antidote to the insecurity of individuals and institutions!”
‘Dedicated to the Service of the Party’
Without elaborating on the remark, he added that the Congress had given him “enough in the last 45 years” and that he had devoted his entire adult life to serving the party. “Que sera, sera. What will be will be,” he said.
The Congress on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) announced its election committees for Punjab ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, keeping Amarinder Singh Raja Warring as Punjab Congress Committee president and Partap Singh Bajwa as Congress Legislature Party leader, ending speculation of a possible leadership change in the state unit.
Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Campaign Committee, while former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been appointed as the Chairman of the Main Committee. Vijay Inder Singla will head the Election Management and Coordination Committee and Amar Singh MP the Program Committee.
