When Sanjan spoke of the “moment of silence”, she said that the birth of their son Angada in September 2023 brought a great shift – not only in their personal life, but also in Bumrah’s cricket. “When we first held our child, Jasprit actually played in Asia Cup,” she said. “He flew back just in time. I don’t want to say it too loud, but I think he has become a better cricket since Angad was born. When you have a quiet home to return, where you can only be a dad and husband, it helps a lot.”

Sanjana also spoke of the wives of other crickets. She said each of them was very different, just like players. “Everyone is unique. Sometimes I will talk to the player and later meet his wife at the stalls and I think – yeah, I understand it. It’s like Yin and Yang. It’s exactly what he needed in life,” she shared.Quiz: Who is the IPL player? When Sanjana was talking about her own moments on the Bumrah camera, she laughed at her trying to distract her during the conversations. “After winning the T20 World Cup, I talked to it and kept doing funny things – blinking or smiling – just to throw me away. He knows when I concentrate too hard and try to break it.” Outside the Sanjan field, she said that their bond was strong and carefree. “He’s my best friend,” she smiled. “We’ll lie in bed, eat some chocolate, watch Netflix and then just talk about our day. That’s our space for comfort.”
