Manav Sharma, a senior employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), recorded a heartbreaking video before ending his life, blaming his wife and calling for stronger legal protections for men. His wife, Nikita Sharma, denied the allegations, pointing instead to his history of alcohol abuse and self-harm.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Nikita stated, “On the day he died by suicide, he dropped me off at my mother’s home. Whatever claims he made are about my past. After our marriage, none of it is relevant.”
Nikita revealed that Manav had attempted suicide multiple times and that she had personally intervened to save him on at least three occasions. She also accused his family of ignoring his mental health struggles, despite her repeated warnings.
Manav, 25, married Nikita in 2024 in Agra, and the couple moved to Mumbai in February 2025. In his viral video, he expressed deep anguish over his marriage and accused his wife of infidelity.
“It’s up to the authorities now. The law must protect men… My wife was involved with another man… But what can I do? It doesn’t matter anymore,” he said in the video.
He also spoke about his previous suicide attempts, showing scars on his wrist, and made a final plea: “Think about people. I’m sorry, everyone… They’ll become very lonely.” His last words included a request: “Don’t trouble my parents after my death.”
According to the FIR filed at the Sadar Bazaar police station, the couple’s relationship was highly strained. Authorities are currently investigating the allegations from both sides.
The video surfaced on social media on February 27 and quickly caught the attention of the Agra police. DCP Agra Suraj Rai confirmed, “After learning about the video, a case was registered with the relevant sections.” He assured that all allegations would be thoroughly investigated.
