
The former Australian rapid pitch Brett Lee considered the abolition of the highly anticipated accessory of India Vs Pakistan at the ongoing World Championship in Legends (WCL) and described the “hard” situation and at the same time emphasized the importance of mutual respect and inclusivity in global sport.
India vs Pakistan WCL clashscheduled for Edgbaston in Birmingham was dismissed after several former Indian crickets allegedly refused to participate. Their decision came as a result of a nasty terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April-, which further tense ties between India and Pakistan.
Lee spoke at a press conference and represented Australia champions and acknowledged the complexity of the situation, but maintained a neutral and respectful tone.
“That’s a difficult question. But what I say right is, I love India, I love Pakistan. So I hope they can get to discretion where they can appreciate. But most importantly, we’re here in the tournament.
In its official statement, the WCL revealed that accessories in India-Pakistan were scheduled to support inspiration with the separation of good will from the recent volleyball struggle between two nations. This step, however, attracted the will, especially from the Indian contingent, which demanded the organizers to cancel the match. WCL also issued an apology for any anxiety or discomfort that the announcement could have caused, admitting that it could incorrectly assess the emotional climate.
Indian champions Captain Shikhar Dhawan later explained that the decision not to play Pakistan was communicated to the organizers well in advance. Sharing E -mail of 11 May Dhawan repeated his attitude in the post on X:
“Yeah, Kadam 11. May Ko Liya, USA BHI WAISE Hi Khad Hoon. Mera desh mere liye sab kui hai, aur desh with Badhkar Kuch na Hota.”
(I stand by a decision that I accepted on May 11th. My country means everything to me and nothing is more important than a nation.)
Indian champions, who raised the WCL title last year defeated Pakistan in the finals commanding five goals. The Indian party chased 157, brought a strong tab performance that seal the victory and lifted the trophy.
