Six days have passed since the last match of the I-League 2024-25 season, but the league still has no champion. In Indian football fans, the excitement of the title race has now turned into a test of patience and confusion, because Inter Kashi and Churchill Brothers remain locked in Limbo and are waiting for a verdict from the All India (AIFF).
Surprisingly, this stalemate does not result from any of the two best teams-but the decision that depends on the sixth placement of Namdhari FC.
What is the confusion?
On the paper, Churchill Brothers finished the season with 40 points, just one before 39. Real Kashmir and Gokulam Keral, both ending 37 points, joined the remarkable intensity of the season – four teams in it to the very end, separated by fine margins and differences in the targets.
But while Churchill seemed to be ready to raise its third title i-League, the dispute from January 13 is threatened to override it.
Namdhari controversy
This problem stems from the loss of 2-1 Inter Kashi on Namdhari, a match that now has more weight than someone imagined. Inter Kashi appealed to the AIFF Disciplinary Committee and claimed that Namdhari had built an unfitted midfielder CLEDSON Carvalho da Silva, who had already accumulated three yellow cards and was to be suspended.
The Disciplinary Committee initially adjacent to Inter Kashi and awarded them three points. However, this decision was suspended on March 27, which created a bigger question: Failed the AIFF’s own portal in time to update the suspension?
Namdhari prevented his movement and said that the name of the player did not seem to be suspended on the official platform.
The accessories, which were supposed to be just another calendar date, has now become a beer point of the whole season.
What else for i-League?
Given that the Appeal Committee AFF moved its meeting to 12 April-more than scheduled 28. April-in-the-end can finally be written the final chapter of this saga I-League.
Two results hang in balance:
- Inter Kashi earns three points, climb to 42 and demand their first i-League-spols with promotion to Indian Super League.
- The appeal is rejected and the Churchill brothers are officially crowned champion, which ensures their long -awaited promotion.
As fans, players and officials are waiting for clarity, one thing is for sure: Indian football rarely has rarely seen the title race – and its consequences – this dramatic.
