Former Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar hopes that communication with Rohit Sharma has been done in the right way in terms of changing Captain Odi. Rohit handed over the reins of the Indian ODI team to SHUBMAN GILL On Saturday, October 4, when India started its transition before the World Cup in 2026.
Nayar spoke to Star Sports and said he had no change in change if he was Rohit on the same page with selectors. The former coach assistant feels that it is great, that Rohit got responsibility for help during the transitional period.
“There’s only one thing for me. Look if the discussion happened with him if he was on the same page, if he said,” Yes, we have to look forward to seeing SHUBMAN GILL, and I’ll be there in the dressing room to help him, “then I’m all.”
“I think it’s a great decision because you left the captain (Rohit) in a loop. I feel it deserves so much,” Nayar said.
Captain Gill Creation is not bad
Nayar feels that the question about communication from selectors can only answer Rohit and the decision to make Gill captain was correct.
“And that’s a question, it can only answer, because it’s the only thing for me. Besides, any decision you take – it’s not bad. SHUBMAN GILL, we all once knew he would be a captain, and should be because he’s such a player.”
“But for me there is only one thing: if you do it, do it right. If you have this communication, then – I always believe – communication takes time. It’s not a phone call. You sit together and talk,” Nayar said.
During his press conference, Ajit Agarkar revealed that there was clear communication with Rohit on the decision to change the captain.
