Recent messages suggest that Bumrah has risen from the raceWith SHUBMAN GILL and RISHABH PANT, they are the leading runs at the moment. In an interview with ICC, Shastri said he didn’t want Bumrah to take over the role because he feels that India would lose him as a pitch.
Former India coach also noted that Bumrah must take things one game at once when he returns from a serious injury. Shastri also said that since Bumrah plays IPL, he does not want him to be extra pressure on him to be a captain when he moved to testing cricket.
“See you for me, Jasprit would be an apparent choice after Australia, but I don’t want Jasprit to be made by a captain and then lose it as a pitch.”
“I think he (Bumrah) must take his body at once after a second. After a serious injury, he returns.”
“It will play IPL cricket, which is four shortcuts.
“Someone groom”
When asked who should be the next captain of the test in India, Shastri said that as a gill and a hinge should be modified for the role and get time to success.
“Someone is adjusting and I would say that SHUBMAN looked very good. Give him the opportunity. He is 25, 26 years old, even will give him time,” Shastri said.
“There is also Rishabh. I think these two are the obvious ones I look at for their age and have ten years ahead. Let them learn that they now have experience as captains, their franchise captains,” Shastri said.
The decision on the new test captain in India will be made when the Group for England Tour is selected. A series of five tests against England will start from 20 June.
