The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has finally lamented that he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize, as he has claimed credit for solving many global conflicts since taking office. He said that despite successfully resolving “eight wars”, he was never awarded the Nobel Prize, even though he was told that resolving the next conflict could earn him one.
The US president also said he “loves” solving wars because he likes “stopping people from killing”. Trump said, “Look at all the wars we’ve solved, and every time I’ve solved one, when they say, if you solve another one, you’ll get a Nobel Prize.”
He also talked about the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Venezuela’s Maria Corina Machado, saying he did not know who she was. “I didn’t get the Nobel Prize. Someone who is a very nice woman got it. I don’t know who she is, but she was very generous. I don’t care about all that stuff. I’m just about saving lives. But this will be number nine.”
He suggested that his contributions to global peace had not been properly recognized and hoped that next year would be better.
Trump continued: “The prime minister of Pakistan said, I’ve saved millions of lives … look at Pakistan and India as an example. That would be wrong … Although I understand that Pakistan has attacked or is under attack in Afghanistan. That’s easy for me to solve if I have to solve it.”
“In the meantime, I have to run the US, but I love solving wars. You know why? I love to prevent people from being killed, and I’ve saved millions and millions of lives.”

Trump’s comments echoed remarks he made earlier on Sunday (local time) when he reiterated that he has been instrumental in resolving several long-standing global conflicts. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Oct. 13 while en route to the Middle East, he called the Gaza ceasefire the eighth conflict he has successfully helped end.
“This will be my eighth war that I’ve solved, and I heard there’s a war going on now between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I said I’ll have to wait until I get back. I’m doing another one. Because I’m good at solving wars,” Trump said.
Speaking about the India-Pakistan conflict, Trump said: “Think about India, Pakistan. Think about some of the wars that have been going on for years. We’ve had one for 31 years, one for 32 years, one for 37 years, with millions of people killed in each country, and I’ve handled each one, mostly, in a day. It’s pretty good.”
Trump said it was an “honor” to play a role in saving lives through his peace initiatives.
