Shreyas Iyer chases the title IPL 2025 – and keeps it up. Captain Pandjab Kings revealed that he barely slept after his noble, undefeated 87 out of 41 balls, which on Sunday evening in Ahmedabad eliminated five -time Mumbai Indians champions. It was a defective performance sent by Punjab to his first IPL finals in 11 years – but Iyer admitted that his mind was far from cool.
“I couldn’t sleep. I only got four hours of sleep last night and I am here,” Iyer said at Monday’s pre -final press conference. “I went to my room and the other thing I know, I’m doing a PC here.”
Kings Pandjab is now facing Royal Challengers Bengalur on Tuesday’s final at the Narendra Modi stadium – a clash between two teams looking for their first IPL title. While Iyer previously led the Kolkata Knight riders to the title in 2024, this season with Punjab carried another weight.
Kings scripted a remarkable turn, overcame the league scene and weather failures to achieve a collision of the summit. Iyer was the central point of their revival – both as a captain and their leadership. With 603 runs in 16 shifts on average 54.81 and a strike speed of almost 176, including the six fifties, Iyer led from the front.
“Happy, but not happy,” he said, summarizing his mood.
“When I say I’m in the zone, it starts well before the match – from heating to the way you plan and approach the game. As soon as I was completely locked, I knew how to gather players and did a phenomenal work that limited them to 203.”
Chase was carefully built. After a strong start from the Openers Iyer, he waited patiently for No. 4, which allowed Josh Inglis to take the lead before the start of his attack as soon as he settled.
“Once my eyes were planted, it was all about the flow and trust in my instincts,” he said. “But I didn’t feel like a celebration – only half the work is done.”
Pandjab was convincingly defeated in the first qualifying last Thursday in Chandigarh – their second direct defeat against the side of Rajat Patidar in the same place. Since RCB is enjoying a five -day break before the finals, the pandjab must now convene its energy for the last pressure.
“That’s the game that matters,” Iyer said. “The point is to stay at the moment – and we are edges with positivity.”
With the history of the touch distance and the captain -powered purpose and the perspective, Kings Pandjab is up to the moment.
