The Minister of the External Affairs Jaishankar said on Thursday (May 15) that he had a “good interview” with the Office of Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and thanked him for the conviction of the terrorist attack of Pahalgam of 22 April.
“It will be deeply appreciated by his condemnation of the terrorist attack Pahalgam,” said Jaishankar on X (formerly Twitter). “He welcomed his firm rejection of recent attempts to create distrust between India and Afghanistan through false and unfounded reports.”
He added that both parties discussed future cooperation and reaffirmed the support of India for Afghan development.
The Afghan General Consulate in Mumbai repeated sentiment and published that both ministers discussed the strengthening of trade, diplomatic ties and cooperation through the port of Chabahar, along with matters such as facilitating visas and release of Afghan prisoners in India.
“Involvement with Pakistan will be strictly bilateral”
Jaishankar spoke with reporters on the side track of the Honduras Embassy in Delhi and repeated the long -term policy of India about Pakistan.
“As far as Pakistan is concerned, our relations, our negotiations with them will be bilateral and strictly bilateral,” he said. “This has been a national consensus for many years, and there is absolutely no change in that consensus that negotiations with Pakistan will be bilateral,” Jaishankar said.
He rejected any space for dialogue with Pakistan outside the question of terrorism: “Prime Minister Modi clearly explained it – Intelks with Pakistan will only be terrorism.”
Suspension of Indus Waters contract for continuing
Jaishankar also reaffirmed that the Treaty of Indus Waters (IWT) will remain in Nesení until Pakistan has finished its support for cross -border terrorism.
“The Cabinet Security Committee was very obvious that the Indus Waters contract was held in non -scope and will continue to be held in non -scope,” he said. “It will remain as much as Pakistan trusted and irrevocably stops its support for cross -border terrorism.”
India suspended the world banking contract the day after the attack on Pahalgam as part of the wider set of repressive measures.
Operation Sindoor and Pakistan retaliation
India began accurate strikes on the terrorist nodes in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) 7 May as part of the Sindoor Operation. These strikes focused on camps in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad and other places.
Pakistan responded by attempting to strike at Indian military installations on 8, 9 and 10 May, which were against Indian forces.
Tamesfire conversations after India has achieved goals
EAM rejected the term “ceasefire”, said India prefers to “stop military action” and explained that the new Delhi stopped after its goals.
“What you call a ceasefire is called the stopping of fire and military events. We have achieved the goals we set,” he said.
He revealed that India had reported in advance that military objectives were not the goal: “We sent a message to Pakistan and stated that we had struck terrorist infrastructure, we did not sit on the army, so the army has the opportunity to excel and not interfere.
Jaishankar said that satellite images clearly show damage caused by India and the minimum damage caused by Pakistan.
“These pictures will tell you what intervention they bought and the same people who did not get dirty to stand up on May 7, were willing to speak and stand up on May 10. It is very clear who wanted to stop the shooting.”
There is only a problem with Kashmir: POK Dorcence
Jaishankar has strengthened the attitude of India in Kashmir and said, “Sometimes the problem of Kashmir emerges. The only thing that remains to be discussed on Kashmir is the permission of an illegally occupied Indian territory in Pakistan.
