The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Friday secured 16 acres of government land at TNGO Colony in Serilingampally Mandal of Rangareddy District.
According to officials, the government had earlier allotted portions of land in the area for TNGO employees. In the layout prepared by HMDA in 2007, about 10 acres were designated as Musai Kunta (water body) while the adjoining 4 acres were designated as green belt area. In addition, 2 acres were allotted for a government school. Complaints were received through HYDRAA Prajavani about alleged encroachments on these lands. Based on the complaints, HYDRAA conducted field inspection in coordination with GHMC and Finance Department officials. There were also allegations that some representatives of employee associations supported the strikes, which were investigated in detail, the agency said in a statement.
After confirming the encroachments, HYDRAA fenced off the entire 16-acre site and installed signboards declaring it government property to prevent further illegal occupation.
