The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Thursday secured government land worth over ₹111 crore in Rangareddy district, a HYDRAA statement said. The acquired assets include a 976 square yard park and 1.28 acres of government land in Rajendranagar and Balapur mandals.
In Shastripuram Colony in Mailardevpally village, HYDRAA intervened following a public complaint that some individuals were trying to encroach on the reserved area of the park using fictitious documents. The park area, which is part of the HUDA plan approved in 1996, was earlier fenced off by the city authorities. Acting quickly on residents’ requests, HYDRAA secured land in the park and received recognition from the local community.
In a parallel operation at Jillelaguda village in Balapur mandal, officials cleared encroachments from 1.28 acres of government land in survey No. 76. Reports suggested that some individuals had created fake title deeds, divided the property into plots and started selling them illegally. After receiving complaints, HYDRAA launched an action to reclaim the land, the statement said.
Both sites are now fenced off and signboards have been installed to mark the protected government property and park area.
