The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday cleared encroachments in Rajendranagar Mandal in Ranga Reddy District.
In a major anti-encroachment operation, HYDRAA recovered four parks that were occupied in Phase I and II of the Janachaitanya layout, located in Budvel and Upparpally villages.
According to a statement shared by HYDRAA, about 19,878 square yards of land has been reclaimed from illegal residents. The parks, which are part of the 120-acre Janachaitanya layout developed with the approval of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, have reportedly been disturbed over the years. HYDRAA received complaints from residents through its Prajavani complaint reporting system, which led to a joint review with the revenue department and municipal authorities.
After an on-site verification, HYDRAA confirmed the illegal encroachments and started the demolition work. Structures including boundary walls, a shed and a room built on plots of 3,000, 1,000 and 500 square yards were razed. After the operation, HYDRAA began fencing off the reclaimed land to prevent further encroachment.
