
The man who was previously arrested for the sexual assault of a smaller girl was sentenced to 25 years of strict imprisonment on Monday 4th August. The court also accused a fine of 5,000 ₹ for the accused and awarded the victims a remuneration of £ 5.
The accused, identified as Kamalakar Shiva Kumar, 19, a private employee from Námalagund, Secunderabad, was arrested in 2020 by Chilkalgud’s complaint after the victim’s parents’ complaint.
Against him, the case was registered within multiple sections, including Section 376DA (gang rape), section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), Section 66e IT Act and the relevant provisions on the protection of children from sexual offenses (POŠO).
