When the city was preparing for the annual immersion of Ganesh, on Saturday the police commissioner Hyderabad CV Anand in Purani Havel organized an inspection meeting with the Police South Zone in Purani Havel to take security measures and other arrangements.
The meeting discussed the strategies to ensure the safe and smooth behavior of immersion and concerns about the rights and order resulting from overlapping with Milad-unbi, even though the procession was moved to 14 September.
Mr. Anand noted that during the immersion of previous years, shortcomings were observed and ordered officials to take adequate measures to prevent any repetition. He emphasized the need for a detailed action plan to facilitate fast transport of ganesh idols to immerse, minimize overload on roads and maintain public order.
The instructions have been issued to all departments to effectively coordinate, especially units for operation and right and order to deal with large crowds and processions expected in the southern zone. The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of proactive police in sensitive areas and ensured the security staff to remain vigilant.
The meeting was attended by a meeting of DCP (South Zone) Sneha Mehra, DCP (Special Branch) K. Apoorva Rao, DCP (Traffic) R. Venkateshwarla, officers and officials from all South Zone police stations.
The police said that in the next few days, complicated arrangements, including diversions of operation and deployment, would be announced.
