Tutem (Technologies for Urban Transit to increase mobility and secure availability), a new application for secure subway travel, especially for women, will be launched soon, said the CEO of Hydero Metro Rail (HMR) NVS Reddy on Thursday.
The technological solution is developing with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the BITS Pilani-Hyderabad, Hyderabad Police, IIT KharaGpur, IIT Bombay and HMR and, according to the main Minister A. Revant Reddy, on public security security, he said.
At the user seminar, which took place on the BITS Pilanabad campus, Mr. Reddy said that public transport is the only solution to increasingly complex traffic problems. He claimed that the Tutem application will greatly help travelers to achieve a goal.
It will have an “driver application” and “user application” containing measures to safely transport passengers, especially women, to their respective destinations. While most of the journey is through the Rail metro, the application is designed to cover the travel before and on the meter-including walking, two-wheelers, cars, buses or auto-ricks-to ensure a safe journey from home to the final destination.
New innovation
In the event that a woman feels dangerous at any moment during the journey, the application offers a device that would immediately notify the police control center and their family members and relatives, he explained. MD also emphasized the importance of solving socio-economic problems through engineering and technological solutions and expressed the commitment to HMR to new innovations.
HMR, which transports nearly half a million people a day to their destinations, offers to the city over the past seven years of environmental travel facilities, he added.
Bits Pilani Vice -Chairman V. Ram Gopal Rao said that several functions were incorporated into the Tutem application for women’s safety during the late night hours.
In the future, technical experts are trying to expand the initiative to cities. ADB representative Josephine Aquino, Director of the Pilani Pilani Mukherjee campus, Iit Bombay’s Avijit Hungarian and Bits Pilani Prashanth Sahu participated in a press release.
