The Hyderabad Hot Air Balloon Festival 2026 will end tomorrow, January 18. The highly anticipated three-day festival has started near the historic Golconda fort in the Golf Club area. Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao officially launched the event on Friday. On the occasion of Sankranti, Hyderabad organized this ‘Celebrate the Sky’ event.
As part of the opening celebrations, Jupally Krishna Rao took a hot air balloon ride from the Golconda Golf Club in suburban Appajiguda, covering a distance of nearly 13 kilometers in one and a half hours. According to the Minister of Tourism, this initiative marked a new chapter in the state’s tourism industry.
The Hot Air Balloon Festival followed the Kite and Sweet Festival organized by Telangana Tourism which was held at the Parade Grounds from January 13 to 15. The ongoing Balloon Festival coincides with the two-day Mega Drone Show being held at the Gachibowli Stadium, which is scheduled to end today.
2026 Hot Air Balloon Festival ticket price
Those who want to enjoy an aerial view of Hyderabad and its surrounding countryside must note the ticket prices and steps to book the rides. The price for the morning balloon flight is ₹2,000 per person, lasting 30-40 minutes, climbing up to 4,500 feet and covering a distance of 8 to 10 kilometers. Meanwhile, the evening tethered rides and Night Glow Show carry nominal charges, as low as ₹15 for spectators.

BookMyShow describes a “tethered flight” as “ropes are attached to the balloon and the balloon rises up to 50 feet above the ground. Each flight would last approximately 7-10 minutes, with 1-3 people on board each flight.” There are 15 international standard balloons at the event, PTI reported.
